GREETINGS SETXNP COLLEAGUES!
Posted over 5 years ago by Byron Young
Good afternoon, SETXNP Members --
I am looking forward to an exciting year for the SETXNP Association. My board colleagues and I are extremely hopeful about increased membership and engagement for the 2019-2020 year.
I wish to commend all of my fellow Advance Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) for remaining steadfast in your commitment to the science and evidence-based practice standards. When we couple evidence-based practice with compassionate professional nursing care, we shine brightly as exemplary healthcare providers. It is no surprise that the people of our community already seek us out for their health care needs. It truly is a joy to serve our community TOGETHER with you.
We - the board of officers for SETXNP's - will focus this year on providing APRN's with presentations and other events which are grounded in science. I am attaching a copy of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Standards of Practice position statement as a useful practice guide. At the next meeting, I wish to propose to our group the possibility of adopting this position statement into our By-laws - at the next revision period, of course.
We will also be striving to increase our association's involvement with Texas Nurse Practitioners (TNP) as an affiliate group. We are well-served in having a voice at the state level, particularly in statutes and laws pertaining to primary care and access to care in our great State of Texas.
I would love to hear from you with questions, concerns or comments regarding our association, practice or anything else. Here's to a wonderful year ahead.
Blessings,
Byron Young, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC
