Volunteer Opportunities

SETXNP would like to have volunteers on 3 different days in June. Here is the general information about what is offered. It is a general overview of the screenings and education we will be providing. We are hoping to augment the below information with possible audiology students teaching on hearing protection for our guys and possibly PVD testing but we will see what the responses are from the community.

We will be doing our Prostate Screenings/June Men's Health month in three cities this June and would love any assistance you may be able to give us. We will provide very valuable education and healthcare screenings for Diabetes, Cholesterol, HIV, Hepatitis C, Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, and Pulse oximetry.

We will have our Prostate/Men's Health Month screenings on June 6- Port Arthur/Carl Parker Center, June 13- Beaumont/LIT, and June 20th- LSCO, Orange. We are asking for any and all volunteers to help us. We will have educational tables with literature, opportunities for vital signs, drawing blood, finger sticks, greeting/assisting with healthcare forms and many other actions.

Please do not hesitate to share our flyer with any other groups that may have volunteers interested in volunteering with us. We are hoping to have 4-6 volunteers to do vital signs, 4 volunteers to draw blood and 6 volunteers to do finger sticks.

We will have educational booths covering Dental/Tobacco/cessation, Nutrition, Melanoma/Skin Cancer , Mental Health, STI/HIV/Hep C education. Different clinics such as Gulf Coast, TAN, Spindletop, and UTMB usually set up tables with their clinic literature to promote awareness of services in our area for the uninsured/underserved population.
